Father John Jenkins, CSC, President of Notre Dame, recently said that "the most important purpose of our University is to produce graduates who will impact the world". The Alumni Association believes that a key aspect of benefitting our world is to understand and appreciate the diverse groups we encounter in our professional, social and religious lives.  Two members of our club exemplify the diversity that Notre Dame is striving to achieve.

The Alumni Association established the Minority Alumni Network (MAN) in 1988 to aid minority alumni in the formation of ethnically defined sub-groups of the Association. The Network serves both to increase participation in Alumni Association activities and to provide a balanced network of programs to meet the varied interest of all alumni. In addition, Network members have become valuable contributors to Notre Dame's growing understanding of diverse cultures and have assisted the University in recruitment and mentoring of minority students and recruitment of minority faculty.

Currently there are four member groups of MAN:

 - Asian Pacific Alumni of Notre Dame

 - Black Alumni of Notre Dame

 - Hispanic Alumni of Notre Dame

 - Native American Alumni of Notre Dame
